As a member of Investigation Counsel’s Investigation and Litigation Group, K.R. investigates and litigates complex commercial frauds. K.R.’s practice is focused on fraud recovery litigation for retailers, insurers, private companies and individuals who have incurred losses to rogue employees, officers or directors, or due to failed investments or contractual arrangements with ill intentioned third party service providers or others. K.R. also provides Independent Supervising Solicitor (ISS) services for other law firms that obtain Anton Piller orders (civil search warrants).
Prior to joining Investigation Counsel, K.R. practiced at a large national law firm in Toronto. During this time, he was seconded to the Ontario Securities Commission’s litigation section of the Enforcement Branch.
K.R. also served as an Assistant Crown Attorney in the Downtown Toronto office. K.R. focused on prosecuting financial crimes and was successful in prosecuting commercial crimes including fraudulent loan and insurance schemes, breach of trust matters and investment related frauds.
Before becoming a lawyer, K.R. served as a police officer with the Niagara Regional Police Service in Ontario. In ten plus years with the police, in addition to his investigative experience, among other things, developed and helped implement a Crime Analysis Unit for the Niagara region.
K.R. is also former President and current Board Chairman of a retail wireless telecommunications company that operates several retail outlets throughout Ontario.

K.R. majored in Political Science at Brock University before entering law school. He completed his law degree at the Queen’s University Law School and went onto complete a joint Master of Business Administration degree with Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Managment and York Univeristy’s Schulich School of Business.
